Do: America Recycles Day

When: Saturday, November 16th, 11am-2pm
Where: Ijams Nature Center / 2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville 

Join KKB in celebrating #AmericaRecyclesDay! They have teamed up with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Cherokee Distributing Company, and Ijams Nature Center for a recycling collection party from 11am-2pm!

COLLECTION ITEMS:
WestRock will be collecting glass bottles and jars #GetOffYourGlass

UT Office of Sustainability will have bins on-site for plastic film/bags recycling

CLOTHING SWAP
Bring your clean and in good condition clothes starting at 11am. We will do a clothing swap from 12-2pm. Any clothes left over after the swap will be donated to AMVETS Thrift Stores and South Knoxville Elementary.

Stay around and hang awhile because recyclers will get their first beer free and Captain Muchacho's Food Truck will be serving some delicious eats!

Family: Storybook Trail Grand Opening

When: Saturday, November 16th, 10am-1pm
Where: Norris Dam State Park / 125 Village Green Circle, Lake City 

Join in on Saturday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the TN State Parks Imagination Library Storybook Trail, located on the east side of Norris Dam. The storybook trail features Owl Moon by Jane Yolen. Storybook Trails encourage families to connect with nature and engage in a healthy, outdoor activity.

Ranger-led hikes along the new trail will take place at 10:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. This easy stroller-friendly trail is just over a mile round-trip. They will have impromptu owl programs, hands-on owl themed arts and craft activities for children and Sonic will be selling corn dogs for 50 cents.

This free, family-friendly event will take place in the parking area by the Lakeside Trail. Please park in the TVA Visitor Center parking lot located on the east side of Norris Dam.
